I was delighted to attend the Kashmir All Party Parliamentary Group in the House of Commons. I spoke of my determination to represent the thriving Kashmiri community in Wycombe, should I get elected as Wycombe’s MP, and to ask the government to do more about human rights abuses and secure progress on the right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination.
I was delighted to meet the High Commissioner of Pakistan, His Excellency Dr Mohammad Faisal. I also spoke about the time I spent living and working in Pakistan twenty five years ago.
MPs Khalil Mahmood, Imran Hussain, Mohammad Yasin and Debbie Abrahams were also present.
