Job Details

Emma Reynolds MP is looking to appoint a dedicated Caseworker who is eager to progress their career and join her constituency team.

The role is full-time and will be based in the Wycombe constituency. Please note that this role is not offered for a home-based working contract. The expectation that this role is delivered as a minimum of 4 days per week from the constituency office, with the flexibility for 1 home-working day per week.

The role would suit an individual who has a keen interest in helping others through the office of an MP whilst supporting the overall aims of the parliamentary office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sorting emails and post and replying promptly, including managing correspondence replies to constituents.
  • Working with colleagues to identify issues of concern to constituents.
  • Manage a large volume of cases and complex cases – logging cases, monitoring progress, and ensuring data is held and processed in accordance with regulations.
  • Draft clear and professional correspondence on behalf of the MP.
  • Identify enquiry patterns or emerging local issues and advise the MP and team as appropriate.
  • Assist with surgeries and other meetings as appropriate.
  • Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
  • There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.

Person Specification

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence interacting with a wide range of people.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative and be responsible for own workload.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise a demanding workload, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Empathy when dealing with sensitive or emotional issues.
  • Commitment to public service and helping constituents from all backgrounds.
  • Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.
