Last week I met members of Bucks Vision to discuss the positive difference the charity makes to the lives of blind and partially sighted people in the local community.
It was inspiring to hear about Bucks Vision’s varied programme of entertainment, including live music, guest speakers, seated exercise, and outings to local attractions such as Chiltern Valley Winery and the Chiltern Open Air Museum. I enjoyed answering members’ questions about improvements in Wycombe, including the new Bucks College Group campus and the new hospital building.
Chairman Richard Martyn said: ‘Bucks Vision Wycombe Division meets at the Cedar Barn, Hazlemere, every Thursday afternoon. The meetings provide an opportunity for people who are blind or partially sighted to socialise and chat. If you would like to find out more or arrange a taster visit, contact me on 01494 862687, or Julie Moore, Programme Secretary, on 07447979519.”
A member said: “I joined Bucks Vision Wycombe Club in 2023 – and I only wish I’d done so sooner. I know how isolating and frustrating it can be when everyday life becomes harder. I’ve made many friends and found a place where I feel included and supported.”
