I was honoured to stand with families, carers, and councillors at Burnham Short Breaks Centre to oppose Buckinghamshire Council’s proposal to close this centre and other vital services for adults with disabilities in Buckinghamshire.
The centres, including Burnham Day Centre and Seeleys House which I visited earlier this year, offer essential respite and support to some of our most vulnerable residents. I hear regularly from Wycombe families about how critical these services are.
The unity and strength shown at today’s rally were inspiring. I urge the Council to listen and put the needs of those who rely on adult social care first.
