The staff at High Wycombe Ambulance Station do the best they can at a time when the ambulance service is still struggling with the legacy of 14 years of Conservative neglect. Following my visit, I wrote to South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) about High Wycombe Ambulance Station’s run-down vehicles and buildings.
I was pleased to hear from SCAS (letter dated 24 April 2025) that the station is a priority for rebuild and refurbishment.
Darren Sweet, Clinical Operations Manager for South Bucks and East Berkshire, said:
The team at High Wycombe Emergency Resource Centre were very pleased to welcome Emma to our station. Emma showed a lot of interest in how our service is run across the wide sector South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) covers, and in particular High Wycombe.
Emma took great interest in the thoughts and ideas that our staff had on these and other subject matters, and assured our team that she would pass these on to the appropriate Government departments.
We thank Emma for her valuable time, and look forward to embracing any improvements that occur across the NHS and Social Care sectors over the foreseeable future.
