It was a real pleasure to join TVP Wycombe for their ‘Walk for Women’ last night. A powerful opportunity to discuss how we can make our community safer for every woman and girl.
I’m proud to be part of a government committed to real change.
We’ve already taken decisive steps, including:
- Introducing Raneem’s Law to to embed the first domestic abuse specialists in 999 control rooms
- Rolling out Domestic Abuse Protection Orders
- Launching new measures to tackle spiking, stalking, and intimate image abuse
The Government is also investing £53 million in the Drive Project to reform high-risk domestic abuse offenders, and £230,000 to expand Project Vigilant, currently being trialled by TVP, to tackle predatory behaviour in public and nightlife areas.
These are just the first steps in Labour’s bold mission to halve violence against women and girls within the next decade.
