Drop-in event at YMCA

I attended a multi-agency drop-in event at the YMCA that connected YMCA residents with charities and organisations who provide a range of invaluable support to vulnerable people in Wycombe. I spoke with many outstanding organisations including Hope After Harm, The Hepatitis Trust, the aMAZing Therapy Centre CIC, Mind, and Brook

It was fantastic to speak to so many organisations from across Wycombe and Buckinghamshire who are so dedicated to supporting individuals in vulnerable situations. The event provided a great opportunity to learn about residents’ experiences at the YMCA, and the support that is also offered by staff on-site and via the outreach team.

YMCA Supported Housing Officer Harry Carter said:

We wanted to host this event to help connect our residents to a wide range of professional support. We felt it was very positive for both professionals and residents in the pursuit of developing people’s lives.

Marian Kennedy, Founder and Joint CEO of aMAZing Therapy Centre CIC said:

Last year, we delivered one-to-one counselling to residents at the YMCA, and thanks to a grant from Heart of Bucks, we’re delighted to be returning this year to deliver a further 160 hours of support. The need remains high, and we continue to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from both residents and staff about the impact on mental health, confidence, and wellbeing.

It was a real pleasure to meet Emma at the Multiagency Drop-in Session at the YMCA in High Wycombe on Friday 4th April. It was lovely to connect and share a little about the work we’re doing locally.
