Flag raising for Armed Forces Week

Flag raising for Armed Forces Week

I was honoured to attend the Armed Forces Week flag raising alongside the Countess Howe – The Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, the Chairman of Buckinghamshire council, the Mayor of High Wycombe and local councillors, Fr Anthony Searle, representatives from the Royal British Legion, Chief Superintendent Emma Burroughs from Thames Valley police as well as the RAF Chief of Staff, Squadron Leader Steve Marshall and Station Warrant Officer Lindsay Ward.

It was a powerful moment to recognise the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our service personnel, veterans, and their families.

I’m proud of what our Labour Government has delivered for service personnel in just 11 months of office. We’re backing our forces with the biggest pay rises in over 20 years, restoring 36,000 military homes to public ownership, and investing £7 billion in accommodation. And through our new VALOUR system, we’re making it easier for veterans to access support with housing, jobs, and healthcare.’
