Interfaith Meeting with BNU and TVP

Interfaith Meeting with BNU and TVP

I was pleased to meet with representatives of Wycombe’s Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Christian and Jewish communities, and senior leaders of Buckinghamshire New University and TVP Wycombe. The group was brought together by Imam Haseeb Jahangir, who leads the chaplaincy at the university.

The attendees jointly agreed a statement about the event:

We shared our commitment to working together, building bridges, and supporting the lives of those living in High Wycombe, particularly through tea and hospitality. We want to ensure that faith leaders, and in turn their communities, are not strangers and build trusted friendships, share kindness and knowledge of each other’s religions, and contribute to a collaborative vision for a peaceful local society.

As the MP for Wycombe, I am here to serve all of Wycombe’s diverse communities. This meeting of faith leaders and similar initiatives are particularly important at a time when international and national figures are doing their best to divide us.
