Riverside Surgery receives extra funding

Backed by the government’s major cash injection of over £102 million, over 1,000 GP surgeries will receive vital funding to create additional space to see more patients, boost productivity and improve patient care, following years of neglect.

I welcome this announcement from the Department of Health and Social Care, which will help address some of the pressures and invest in frontline services.

I visited The Riverside Surgery, a local GP surgery set to receive some of the funding announced, to meet with Dr Zoe Rogers and hear first-hand about the challenges they’re facing — from growing patient numbers to the pressures on resources. We had a constructive discussion about how we can work together to highlight the health challenges faced locally including Diabetes, smoking, obesity and substance addiction.

Our NHS is the backbone of our community, and I’ll continue to champion the support it needs to thrive.

Dr Zoe Rogers said:

The partners at Riverside Surgery are delighted to have been awarded this money to provide more space to look after our rapidly growing list of patients.
