Islamophobia Awareness Month

Islamophobia Awareness Month

Over 70% of young Muslims in the UK who say they experience mental health struggles, also say they have been victims of Islamophobia.

42% of Mosques experienced a religiously motivated attack in the last 3 years and of those, 83% have been attacked at least once a year

59% of all articles associate Muslims with negative behaviour.

This ‘Islamophobia Awareness Month’, I have written to the Government to express my deep concern about the growing threat of Islamophobia in our country and to urge them to take decisive action by formally recognising Islamophobia as a distinct and unacceptable form of hatred.
