I had a fantastic evening meeting with Ralph Gonsalves, the Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, at Hilltop Community Centre.
High Wycombe has the biggest Vincentian diaspora in the UK and the second largest diaspora in the world. Many came in the 1950s and 1960s to work in the furniture-making industry and other sectors too.
The evening was a great celebration of the community’s contribution to our business and society. The PM also reminded us that currently many Vincentians still come to the UK to work in our NHS and they help us fill shortages.
