Tackling knife crime in Wycombe

On Wednesday 12 March, representatives of Wycombe’s faith communities, senior leaders of Bucks New University and Thames Valley Police, were brought together by Imam Haseeb Jahangir, who leads the chaplaincy at the university, to discuss how to tackle knife crime in Wycombe.

As part of our Safer Streets mission, the Labour government has set out plans to crackdown on knife crime and halve knife offences in a decade. I welcome Imam Haseeb’s initiative to bring together Wycombe’s faith communities and Thames Valley Police to tackle knife crime our area.

Imam Haseeb said: 

This was a very productive meeting with many good initiatives. I believe we shall work together for the betterment of our community.
