I am pleased to see that our government has sanctioned two Israeli ministers -Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich – alongside Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Norway.
The Foreign Secretary has announced that both Israeli ministers will be banned from entering the UK and will have any assets in the UK frozen.
It is right that we sanction Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Ben-Gvir for inciting extremist violence and serious abuses of Palestinian human rights.
Our government is also calling for an immediate ceasefire, for aid to flow into Gaza, for the hostages to be released and for a two state solution.
